Hyderabad: Family members of a 19-year-old BCom student, Bhavesh Santhosh Tiwari, who was declared as brain dead by doctors, have donated his organs under Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

Bhavesh, son of Santhosh Jay Singh Tiwari and a resident of Latur, Maharashtra, was travelling on a two-wheeler along with his mother, when his bike was hit by another two-wheeler. Under the impact, Bhavesh received serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition where, after ICU treatment, he was declared as brain dead on March 23.

The victim’s father gave the consent to donate his organs and the surgeons retrieved liver, kidneys and donated them to needy patients. The Jeevandan officials extended their gratitude to the family members who decided to donate his organs for needy patients.
