2.5 kg gold worth Rs. 1.15 cr seized at Hyderabad Airport
According to the customs officials, the passengers had arrived in a flight from Dubai and had concealed the gold in mixer grinder and cutting appliances
Hyderabad: The customs officials caught five persons who were smuggling gold into the country at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and seized 2.5 kg gold worth Rs. 1.15 crore from them.
According to the customs officials, the passengers had arrived in a flight from Dubai and had concealed the gold in mixer grinder and cutting appliances. On suspicion the customs officials checked the baggage and found the gold hidden in the articles. The yellow metal was seized and the passengers were detained for questioning. Five cases were registered by the customs against the alleged smugglers.
