Ballia (UP): A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 14-year-old neighbour here, police said on Saturday. Police have detained the accused. Around 3.30 pm on Friday, the toddler was playing near her home in the Sukhpura police station area when the accused lured her to a secluded spot and raped her, police said.
Based on a complaint by the girl’s father, a case has been registered against the accused teenager under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Station House Officer Ratnesh Dubey said. The accused has been detained and is being questioned, the SHO said.
