Hyderabad: The SR Nagar police are caught in a quandary after two men have claimed they were husbands of the same woman, who is missing now.
The entire episode began unfolding when one man approached the police stating that his wife, who is three months pregnant, had gone missing from their house in Balkampet.
However, the police, while verifying were surprised to learn that she was already married with two teenage children. She had allegedly eloped and married again. Now, both the husbands are waiting for the police to find the woman and sort out the issue, stating that they were both legally wedded to her.
Even as police are verifying the legality of their claims, they learned the woman Durga Susheela aka Nagasai Venkata Durga Satyadevi (35) from Kazipet in Warangal was first married to L Shashikanth (42), a temple priest from Hanamkonda, with whom she has two children. She later left the house saying she was going to her parents’ house.
However, according to the police, Durga instead went to her former lover (now second husband) Rayudu Satyavaraprasad, a dancer from Amalapuram in Andhra Pradesh. After enquires, Shashikanth learnt that she was with Satyavaraprasad, following which he lodged a complaint with the Subedari police in Hanamkonda. The Subedari police arrested Durga and Satyavaraprasad and they were jailed too.
After being released from jail, they secretly got married at a temple in Andhra Pradesh a few months ago and started staying in a rented house in Balkampet. Now, Satyavaraprasad has approached the police saying his wife has gone missing.
