20-year-old dies after alleged assault in Talabkatta

A 20-year-old Talabkatta youth, Shaik Ismail alias Ashu, died while undergoing treatment after allegedly being assaulted by his friend. Ismail suffered severe head injuries and remained unconscious before his death at Osmania General Hospital on Thursday.

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old youth, identified as Shaik Ismail alias Ashu, died while undergoing treatment after allegedly being assaulted by his friend Mujju alias Zubair in Talabkatta.

According to police, Ismail was called out by his friend Omer on the pretext of a discussion on October 5. Later, family members were informed that he had fallen ill and was admitted to a private hospital. He was subsequently shifted to Osmania General Hospital with severe head injuries and remained unconscious. He died under treatment on Thursday.

Based on a complaint from his mother, Sultana Begum, Talabkatta police booked a case against Mujju and others and are investigating.
