Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Thursday said it was heartening to see leaders and workers of opposition parties coming forward to support the TRS.

Speaking after welcoming around 200 Congress party activists into the TRS fold here, the Minister said the Congress party does not recognize activists working in the party.

Ajay Kumar further stated that impeding development works was the first priority to Congress leaders in the district. The State government was taking the fruits of welfare and development equally to all sectors which attracted opposition party workers to the TRS.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was giving priority to development and welfare of all communities and castes in the State. “This is the reason why the general public in Telangana always supported the TRS party in all the elections,” he explained.

Congress leaders Somanaboina Swarna, Todeti Vasantha, the party town minority wing leaders Syed Jilani, Shaik Jhani, Md Kareem and ST Cell president Srinivasa Rao were among those who joined the TRS.

SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, City Mayor Punukollu Neeraja, TRS party office in-charge RJC Krishna, corporator Kamarthapu Murali, district minority president Tajuddin and leaders were present.

In another programme at the minister’s camp office at VDOs Colony, Ajay Kumar distributed Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) checks worth Rs 42.58 lakh to around 94 beneficiaries. He informed that checks worth Rs. 5.83 crore were distributed till date in the Khammam Assembly segment.
