Hyderabad: The Telangana government will take-up a massive exercise of recruiting nearly 20,000 healthcare workers at all levels in the health department. The much-awaited recruitment exercise, expected to be carried out in the coming months, will go a long way in plugging gaps in manpower across all government healthcare institutions in Telangana, Health Minister, T Harish Rao here on Wednesday said.
Inaugurating a 50-bedded Community Health Centre (CHC) at Khairatabad here on Wednesday, the Minister said the recruitment drive for the health department will be crucial and due weightage will be given to healthcare workers who have worked efficiently during the successive three Covid waves.
“There are some healthcare facilities in Telangana where there are several doctors but not many patients. In quite contrast, there are others, where patients find it difficult to access a doctor. We are trying to address these disparities. I also want to make it clear that the Telangana government is going all out to ensure necessary medical infrastructure is available to doctors. I personally feel that doctors and other care givers must up their performance and ensure they treat large number of patients,” Harish Rao said.
