21, 826 vaccinated in Telangana on Friday

So far, since the launch of Covid vaccination drive for priority age groups on Monday, about 71, 588 persons have received the first dose of Covid vaccine across Telangana.

Hyderabad: A total of 21,826 individuals above 60 years and those between 45 years and 59 years with comorbidities in Telangana were vaccinated in 391 vaccination centres in the Covid vaccination drive for priority age groups on Friday.

Of the 21,826 individuals in the priority age groups, 17,461 were senior citizens while 4,365 beneficiaries were aged between 45 and 59 years with pre-existing conditions. So far, since the launch of Covid vaccination drive for priority age groups on Monday, about 71, 588 persons have received the first dose of Covid vaccine across Telangana.


On Friday, in 251 State-run vaccination centres, the authorities targeted 11,794 individuals out of which 11,377 were inoculated while in 140 vaccine centres in private hospitals, the authorities vaccinated 10,449 individuals out of the targeted 11,772.

The total number of individuals including health care and front line workers, senior citizens and those with comorbid conditions who received the first dose of Covid vaccine in Telangana is 3,71,982 individuals.

Apart from that, the number of healthcare workers who received the second dose of Covid vaccine is 1,63,448 while frontline workers who received the second dose was 42. The total number of vaccinations including first and second dose for healthcare and frontline workers and priority age groups as on Friday was 5,35,472.
