22-year-old dies by suicide in Secunderabad amid gaming app-related financial losses

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at Tirumalagiri in Secunderabad on Sunday, reportedly after becoming addicted to a gaming application and suffering financial losses.
The man, identified as Manikantha, was reportedly under financial stress due to his passion for the gaming app.
According to police, Manikantha was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a scarf inside the bathroom of his residence. His family members alerted the police, following which a team from Tirumalagiri police station reached the spot.
The clues team examined the scene and collected evidence as part of the investigation. Later, the body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the death.
The police suspect that the loss of money and the resulting distress may have driven him to take the extreme step.
