25-year-old gets 20-year jail term in Hyderabad POCSO conviction
A Fast Track Court in LB Nagar sentenced a 25-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in a POCSO case. The court also imposed a fine and compensation after convicting him for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor following a full trial.

HYDERABAD: A Fast Track Special Court at LB Nagar on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old man in a POCSO case to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 and awarded Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the victim.
The man, Saadangi Venkatesh alias Sadula Venkatesh, had kidnapped the minor and repeatedly sexually assaulted her. The victim was traced and oral, documentary and scientific evidence collected, and a charge sheet was filed under relevant provisions of the IPC and the POCSO Act, said the police.
After a full-fledged trial, the Fast Track Special Court convicted the accused and awarded the sentence.
