Residents of a 2BHK colony in Charigaon village of Kagaznagar mandal staged a protest on Thursday, demanding the restoration of drinking water supply.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Residents staged a dharna demanding that officials restore drinking water supply to a 2BHK colony at Charigaon village on Thursday.
The residents said they were facing severe inconvenience due to disruption of the water supply for the past few days. They claimed that the challenge had not been resolved even after it was brought to the notice of local leaders several times.
The agitating men and women appealed to officials and local public representatives to address the challenge at the earliest. They warned that they would intensify their stir seeking drinking water if the problem was not resolved. They alleged that their Sarpanch was not laying a focus on the persistent issue, leaving them frustrated.
Officials admitted that the residents were not getting drinking water due to the absence of an operator. They said that water was being pumped to an overhead water tank. However, the water was not supplied to households with the village having no dedicated person to operate the facility. The operator should be appointed by the Panchayat department.
