Karimnagar: 2k run was conducted to mark national unity day observed on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s birth anniversary in Karimnagar on Saturday.
The run, which started at Ambedkar stadium, reached Telangana chowk passing through Bhagathnagar, and Collectorate office. Additional DCP (law and order) S Srinivas flagged off the rally, wherein police officials and representatives NGOs participated.
Speaking on the occasion, DCP said irrespective of caste, religion and class, all sections of the people should take part in the protection of the country.
There was a threat to the internal security of the country from anti-social elements. So, all sections of the people should express their unity and come forward to face any kind of challenge. On the occasion, participants took oath to protect national unity.
Police cultural teams entertained the participants with their programmes. Karimnagar town ACP P Ashok, SBI Indrasena Reddy, Inspectors Vijay Kumar, Vignan Rao, Damoder Reddy, Shashidar Reddy, Reserve Inspector Malleshamby, Jhanimia, Shekar, Murali and others participated in the run.
