Visakhapatnam: A mother, along with her paramour, murdered her three-year-old girl child, and buried her in the city on Friday. According to police, Peetala Varalakshmi and Boddana Ramesh (27) were married in 2014 and they had a girl child, Sindhisri.
The couple had been at loggerheads for over a year, ever since Ramesh questioned his wife on her extra-marital relationship with one Bora Jagadeesh, which led to their separation.
Varalakshmi with her child began living with her paramour near Marikavalasa from May 14. She telephoned Ramesh on June 2 saying that the child was taken ill the previous night and was rushed to a hospital nearby where the doctors declared her dead. She had, therefore, got her buried in a nearby cemetery.
Ramesh suspected foul play and lodged a complaint with the police who began the probe, exhumed the body and sent it to post mortem. On Saturday, Jagadish was said to have confessed he committed the murder with the help of Varalakshmi as the child was a hindrance to their love life.
