Medak: Over 32 students had a miraculous escape as the driver of the private school bus managed to evacuate them safely after the bus got stuck in a caved-in bridge, built across Pushpala Vagu near Medak on Saturday.
The bus of Don Bosco School was heading towards neighbouring villages carrying 32 students on Saturday evening when the road caved in and the bus got stuck on the edge of the bridge. The bus driver calmed the panicked students and helped them alight from the bus safely.
The parents and school management rushed to the spot after coming to know about the incident. They arranged alternative transportation to help students return home. Since the district had witnessed incessant rains over the past one week, the bridge was damaged.
Local people urged the government to take up repair work at the spot without delay.
