33 Covid cases reported in Karimnagar

Some villagers, who attended a funeral recently, were infected by Covid as two of the deceased person's family members were suffering from the virus.

Karimnagar: As many as 33 persons tested positive for coronavirus in Chegurthi of Karimnagar rural mandal, triggering panic among the resident.

Some villagers, who attended a funeral recently, were infected by Covid as two of the deceased person’s family members were suffering from the virus. Out of 47 persons who underwent the test, 16 tested positive for the virus on Thursday alone. As a number of corona cases were reported in a single day, Kothapalli Primary Health Center authorities arranged a medical camp in the village and are conducting tests.

On Friday, 17 Covid cases were detected from the 87 persons who underwent the test. So far, 33 people from the village have been infected by the virus. Health Department officials are now trying to trace the primary contacts of 33 persons.

Some of the people from the adjacent Durshad also participated in the funeral. Medical authorities are also contemplating carrying out tests in that village.

Kothapalli PHC Health Assistant, Balaiah said they were conducting tests to villages by arranging medical camp as 16 Covid positive cases were reported on Thursday alone.

Informing to carry out more tests, he said they were trying to trace primary contacts of positive persons.
