376 kgs ganja seized in Khammam

Khammam: Police seized about 376 kg of dry ganja in different places in erstwhile Khammam on Friday and arrested four persons.

In Kothagudem district, police seized 326 kg of ganja during vehicle inspections at Jaggaram cross road in Aswapuram mandal, informed Inspector of Police (CI) Satla Raju.

The substance was being smuggled from Malkangiri district in Odisha state to Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district.Two persons, Mukund Kara and Madhu Kilo of Malkangiri were arrested and a car was seized by the police. The worth of the seized ganja was said to be Rs 48.90 lakh, the CI said.

In a raid at Gaddalagudem in Konijerla mandal the task force team led by ACP G Venkat Rao has seized 50 kilograms of ganja worth around Rs 7.5 lakh. Two persons, Tammisetty Anand of Gaddalagudem and Guguloth Bau Singh of Kommugudem in Julurpad mandal in Kothagudem district were arrested, informed Wyra CI, Vasanth Kumar.
