40 stranded brick kiln labourers rescued in Peddapalli
The water level in Godavari near Godavarikhani town rose sharply following release of water from Sripada Yellampalli project and entered the nearby Ganganagar area.

Peddapalli: 40 brick kiln labourers stranded in flood water near Godavarikhani town were rescued by the police on Friday. Ramagundam MLA Korukanti Chander personally participated in the rescue operations and went to the stranded labourers in a boat, wearing a life jacket.
The water level in Godavari near Godavarikhani town rose sharply following release of water from Sripada Yellampalli project and entered the nearby Ganganagar area.
Besides a lorry yard, a brick kiln unit was also inundated by the flood water. Vehicular traffic on Ganganagar-Medipalli road was also disrupted.
About 40 labourers in a brick kiln unit were stranded in the flood water. On coming to know about their plight, police started a rescue operation, deploying special teams and engaging boats.
The MLA, ACP Umender and CI Ramesh went to the brick kiln unit and reassured the labourers about the rescue operation. Later, all the labourers were rescued and shifted to a rehabilitation center.
