Hyderabad: The American dream job still seems to hold good for many Indians. With technology jobs becoming the most sought-after, about 40 per cent of Indians searched for jobs in the United States (US) between 2019 and 2021.
As per an analysis by Indeed, the search activity from India for jobs in other countries was highest between November 2019 and April 2020, where it witnessed a 72 per cent jump.
It added that US, Canada and the United Kingdom account for close to 70 per cent of job searches by Indian job seekers.
“Indian job seekers show a keen inclination towards working in countries like the US, Canada, the UK, as well as the Middle East region. Our data shows that the US is the most popular destination between 2019 and 2021,” a release by Indeed said.
Canada with its immigration friendly policies was the second most favorite option while UAE and Great Britain accounted for 14 per cent each followed by Qatar and Singapore at 3 per cent each and Australia emerged as the close sixth place.
What roles Indians look for?
The release mentioned that some of the popular job roles include tech jobs such as Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Data Analyst as well as customer facing roles like Customer Service Representative.
“As a group, Indian job seekers are highly focused on tech and engineering in their job searches – almost the majority of all clicks on US-based jobs from India are related to tech roles, which involve technology and language skills,” the company said in a statement.
