45 kg IED detected, blasted by security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur
The CRPF 222 battalion, during an area domination patrol from the Palnar camp, discovered a 45 kg improvised explosive device (IED). On their return, security personnel detected the IED approximately two kilometers from Cherpal. The battalion's bomb disposal team safely detonated the explosive, according to Bijapur police.

Kothagudem: Security forces have detected and blasted an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoists on Cherpal-Palnar road under Gangaloor police station limits in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.
The IED weighing about 45 kg was spotted by CRPF 222 battalion that had left on area domination duty from Palnar camp. While returning the security personnel detected the IED at a distance of two kilometres from Cherpal and the bomb disposal team of the battalion blasted it safely, Bijapur police said.
The IED was installed using a command switch system, whose switch was located at a distance of about 150 metres. Due to the alertness of the security forces a major danger to the personnel was averted.
In another incident in Narayanpur district a jawan of Bastar Fighters was injured as an IED planted on Narayanpur Kutul-Bedmakoti road under Kohkameta police station limits was blasted by Maoists. The jawan was rushed to Narayanpur District Hospital for treatment.
