Mancherial: All commercial establishments in Mancherial town will remain closed for five days from May 1 to 5 in the wake of rising cases of Covid-19 in the second wave.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Chamber of Commerce Welfare Association, Mancherial unit, on Thursday.

Association president Gunda Sudhakar, in a statement, said commercial establishments would be shut down except for emergency services such as drug stores, vegetables, milk and fruits to control the spread of the virus. He sought the cooperation from the traders’ community to make the lockdown a success.
In the ongoing wave of infections, Mancherial district continued to register around 500 positive cases and at least five deaths per day. A total of 68,970 persons had the first dose of vaccination against the virus, while 9,372 got the second vaccination as on Wednesday.
