Khammam: Congress was wiped out completely in 57th division of Khammam Municipal Corporation with about 600 leaders and activists from Congress joining TRS on Sunday.
At a programme organised by TRS town party president Pagadala Nagaraj here on Sunday, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar welcome the Congress workers into the TRS fold as a result of which, no one has been left to work for Congress in the division.

Congress activists who joined TRS include senior leaders Korivi Dayanand and Iman. Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar said the opposition parties’ workers were reaching out to TRS after witnessing the development achieved in Khammam. The face of the city has changed totally in the past few years as the State government released enough funds to lay CC roads and drains in every residential area in the city’s municipal divisions.
Under Mission Bhagiratha drinking water was being supplied to every household through tap connections. On an average in each municipal division about Rs 11 crore was spent and in some divisions around Rs 25 crore has been spent on development works.
Ajay Kumar challenged the opposition parties that they could not stop the development being done by the Telangana government. Once poor residential colonies like Ramanagutta were now becoming opulent colonies and land value has gone up many times due to the development works, he added.
