Adilabad: As many as 63 motorcycles, three cars and four autorickshaws were seized when their owners failed to produce relevant documents during a cordon and search held at Thatiguda colony here on Friday.
Led by Adilabad DSP Venkateshwar Rao, around 80 policemen descended on the colony located on the peripherals of the district headquarters and carried out the cordon and search aimed at eliminating anti-social elements and preventing crimes. He requested the public not to allow unknown persons to rent their homes. He urged them to share information of strangers with policemen.
During the search, Bandari Mallesh, a resident was detained for trading banned gutka and illegally selling liquor. Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 25,000 and gutka packets worth Rs 5,000 were recovered from him.
