65-year-old farmer ends life over mounting debts in Adilabad’s Thalamadugu
A 65-year-old farmer from Thalamadugu in Adilabad allegedly died by suicide due to financial distress caused by mounting debts. The farmer had borrowed money for cotton cultivation and his daughter's wedding and was reportedly worried about repaying the loans amid scanty rainfall.

Adilabad: A 65-year-old farmer allegedly died by suicide as he was distressed over his inability to repay mounting debts at Thalamadugu mandal centre on Monday.
Police said that Kade Lasmanna from Thalamadugu died by hanging in his agriculture field around 6 am.
Lasmanna raised a cotton crop in 2.20 acres of land by lending loans around Rs 3 lakh from a private bank. He availed a loan of Rs 3 lakh from informal sources to perform the wedding of his daughter. He was depressed over scanty rainfall and whether he would be able to clear the debts. He is survived by a wife and three daughters.
Based on a complaint received from his family members, a case has been registered.
