Kothagudem: A mega job mela organised under the aegis of District Employment Office here on Saturday witnessed a huge response from the youth. Nearly 40 reputed companies attended the job mela with 10,000 jobs offers. Over 11,000 youth attended the job mela and of them, 6500 have been offered placements by the companies, informed District Employment Officer, Velpula Vijetha.
L&T offered the highest number of jobs in the mela as it provided placement to around 650 youth followed by Hyundai Motors which offered around 300 placements. Companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Amara Raja Batteries, Apollo Pharmacy, Muthoot Group, Airtel, Vodafone and others also offered a good number of placements at the job drive, she said. District Collector D Anudeep handed over offer letters to the selected candidates and told them to excel in their careers. One has to first gain job experience to avail better opportunities and grow in the career, he suggested.
He appreciated the District Employment Officer Vijetha for making elaborate arrangements and making the job mela a grand success. He also appreciated municipal, police and revenue officials for their contribution and thanked the companies for coming forward to offer jobs to local youth.
Sharing his experience, Anudeep said he had joined a Pune-based company for a salary of Rs 10, 000 after completing studies and the first job has taught many valuable lessons. Unemployed youth should be ready to go to other places in search of better opportunities, he noted.
Jobs were offered to candidates with eighth, tenth, intermediate, degree, diploma, PG, CA, engineering, MBA, MCA, ITI with trades like electrical, fitter, diesel mechanic, motor mechanic, welder and civil at the mela. Municipal Commissioner A Sampath Kumar, District Library Chairman D Rajender, Lead District Manager, Srinivas and tahsildar PV Ramakrishna were present.
