Siddipet: Siddipet police filed drunk and drive cases against 67 persons during the intervening night of December 31 and January 1 across the district.
Following the directions of Commissioner of Police N Swetha, the Police conducted a special drive from Friday 10 pm to Sunday 4 am, keeping a strict vigil on roads. The Commissioner said that no accident was reported in the district on the eve of New Year Day as the police personnel took all the necessary measures.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner celebrated the New Year by cutting a cake along with the police personnel who were on duty at Old Bus Station in the town, at 12 am on the day. ACP Deva Reddy and others were also took part in the celebrations.
