Mahabubabad: The State government, which is striving hard to revamp the medical and health sector, is constructing a total of 74 health sub-centres in the district, said District Collector VP Gautham. The construction of 11 sub-centres had already been completed and seven of them had become operational for patients, he said.
Gautham said he held a review meeting on the construction of the sub-centres on Tuesday and directed the officials to speed up the works and complete them at the earliest. “While 23 centres are being constructed by the TIMIDC, Khammam, 15 centres are constructed by the Roads and Buildings Department, 15 by tribal welfare department, 14 by social welfare department and 22 sub-centres by the TSMIDC, Warangal,” he added.
He said every centre must be given power supply connection besides water connection under ‘Mission Bhagiratha’ programme. There are a total of 14 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the district.
