Warangal: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old school-going boy died, reportedly after a chocolate got stuck in his throat on Saturday.
According to school authorities, Sandeep, son of Kanghan Singh of 28th division in the city, had gone to the classroom after his father dropped him off at the school. However, just as he was about to sit on the bench, he collapsed. Noticing this, the school staff tried to lift him, but he soon fell unconscious. Following this, the principal called Kanghan Singh while the staff rushed the boy to the MGM hospital for treatment. Doctors confirmed that he suffered shortness in breath as a chocolate was stuck in his throat. Though they began preparing for a surgery, the child died of breathlessness before the surgery.
It is learnt that Kanghan Singh, who runs an electrical shop, had visited Australia recently. He had brought some chocolates for his children when he returned, The chocolates were given to the child by his mother Geetha.
