Kothagudem: Police seized 82 kg ganja and arrested four persons at Morampalli Banjar village in Burgampahad mandal in the district on Saturday.

Speaking to the media, Burgampahad ASP B Rohith Raj said during vehicle inspections at the village, the police spotted the accused moving suspiciously on two two-wheelers towards Paloncha. When they were stopped and checked, police found ganja in their bags. They confessed to the police that the substance was purchased at Silaru in AP.

The arrested were identified as, Rajesh Pavule, Akash Vilash Bhale Rao, Umesh Phanle and Akash Sudhkar Bhale Rao of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. The worth of seized ganja is estimated to be around Rs 49 lakhs, informed the ASP. CI Satyanarayana, SI Jithendhar, trainee SI Vijay Laxmi and others were present.
