Jagtial: Unable to cope up with age-related ailments, a 93-year-old man committed suicide by jumping into Godavari river at Rayapatnam bridge, Dharmapuri mandal.

According to police, Dornala Rajireddy from Kachireddypalli, Ramadugu mandal of Karimnagar district, was suffering from age-related health issues for the past few years. Rajireddy, who went from the home on April 8, committed suicide by jumping into Godavari river from the top of Rayapatnam bridge. Body of the deceased surfaced in the water on Sunday.

Passersby, who found the body of Rajireddy floating in the water, informed the matter to police. Learning about the incident, Dharmapuri police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from water and shifted to hospital for postmortem.

Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s son Thirupathi Reddy, police registered the case and began investigation.
