Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao stated that 95 per cent of vaccination was completed in Karimnagar town. Saying that some people have to take the second dose of Covid vaccine, he expressed confidence to achieve hundred per cent vaccination status for the town very soon.
The Mayor inspected a vaccination centre at a private school in Bhagathnagar on Saturday and enquired about the vaccination process by interacting with staff. He said that the State government had sped up the vaccination process to protect children from Covid third wave. Both the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar and district health department were ready to face a third wave, he said.
All precautionary measures have been taken to check the spread of the virus in the town by following the State government’s instructions, he said. Though six vaccination centrs were opened two days ago, the District Collector and District Medical and Health Officer were asked to enhance the number of vaccination centers to ten as a precautionary measure, he said. He said the vaccination centres would be set up in all 60 divisions with all required facilities in the coming days.
Advising the parents not to neglect their cildren, he said that all the children aged between 15 to 18 years should be administered the vaccine without fail. DM&HOs should take steps for the same, he said, adding, no Omicron case was registered in the town so far.
He advised the people to be alert during the months of January and February and take all precautions. Besides maintaining social distancing, everybody should wear face masks to protect themselves from coronavirus, he noted.
