Hyderabad: The four-legged sleuths of the Cyberabad Police Dog Squad will now rush to crime spots in style, and safely.
In a novel initiative to take care of police dogs while transportation, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Thursday flagged off two special vehicles designed exclusively for safe transportation of police dogs that are part of the Cyberabad Police Dog Squad.
“Police dogs play an active role along with policemen in detecting critical and heinous crimes and therefore it is a need that we take care of their health,” Sajjanar said, adding that the vehicles were air-conditioned with specially designed cabins that would provide comfort to the dogs while being transported.
First aid kits
Apart from flagging off the Dog Squad vehicles, Sajjanar also distributed First Aid kits to all the Cyberabad Police vehicles. Each of the kit comprises 20 items, all of which are necessary for first aid. The kit includes items like cotton, Dettol bandages and Covid-19 precautionary kits items like masks and sanitisers.
“Police are the first responders to any incident. These kits will help our officers to give the required first aid to any victim on the roads when they meet with accidents and before they are shifted to hospital for further treatment,” Sajjanar said, adding that the use of such kits would reduce the risk of people losing their lives on the streets.
Traffic DCP SM Vijay Kumar and other senior officials were also present.
