Abhirath and Pragnay tons not enough as Hyderabad lose to Baroda
Hyderabad’s Abhirath Reddy and Pragnay Reddy struck brilliant centuries but their efforts went in vain as Baroda posted 417 and won by 37 runs in a high-scoring Vijay Hazare Trophy preliminary round match at Rajkot
Hyderabad: Centuries by Abhirath Reddy (130, 90b, 18×4, 2×6) and Pragnay Reddy (113, 98b, 11×4, 1×6) went in vain for Hyderabad as it suffered a 37-run defeat against Baroda in a high-scoring preliminary round match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day cricket championship at Rajkot on Wednesday.
For Baroda, Nitya Pandya (122), Amit Pasi (127) and Krunal Pandya (109 no) batted well to help the team score 417 for four in 50 overs.
In reply, Hyderabad scored 380 in 49.5 overs thanks to Abhirath Reddy and Pragnay Reddy.
