Mancherial: Four members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were arrested for allegedly damaging furniture, computer of a private school here on Monday. As many as 10 mobile phones, two motorcycles and a book of donations were recovered from them.
Mancherial ACP Akhil Mahajan said that the arrested were identified as Durgam Vinay, Munjam Sampath, Boppu Shashi Kumar and Vemula Bharath Chandra, allegedly vandalised the furniture, computer, flower pots when the management of Gouthama Budda Vidyanikethan school refused to give donations to the student union. They demanded cdonations from the management citing their school was not recognised by the Department of Education.
Annoyed by this, the management approached the police. The ACP warned that stringent action would be initiated against the student unions if they are found to be attacking schools and extorting their management. He requested the management of private schools to report to the police if they were forced to donate funds to any union in the past.
