Hyderabad: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) HCU unit on Saturday condemned alleged selective police action against its cadre, questioning why students who were victims of an alleged attack by mobs associated with SFI and ASA were facing police action, while the accused continued to remain unchecked.
In a statement, the ABVP HCU unit demanded that the police conduct a fair, impartial and evidence-based investigation into the recent attack on its cadre and other students inside their hostel rooms and examine CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts, medical records and other available evidence.
Condemning alleged serious security lapses in the hostel, ABVP-HCU president Ayush Kumar Singh said the university administration should take responsibility for ensuring adequate security and conduct a transparent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
ABVP HCU secretary Antony Basumatary demanded that Telangana police initiate appropriate legal action against all individuals found responsible for the alleged attack. He also demanded that the university take immediate administrative action against those found responsible for any security or disciplinary violations.
