Hyderabad: Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday staged a protest at Osmania University (OU) administrative building demanding withdrawal of the proposed fee hike for various courses and insisted on filling teaching and non-teaching vacancies besides wanting hostel issues to be addressed.
In a statement here, the student organization found fault with the decision to hike the fee for engineering, pharmacy and PG courses by Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad.
The protesting students were detained and shifted to Amberpet Police Station, from where they were let off later.
