HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force (Jubilee Hills) team, along with Borabanda police, arrested a 28-year-old air-conditioner technician for allegedly selling ganja and seized 13 kg of the contraband worth Rs 6.50 lakh from his possession. The police also seized a mobile phone from him.
The suspect, Md Ayaz, alias Nissar alias Bond, a resident of Sri Ram Nagar in Yousufguda, was caught near the SPR Hills open ground while allegedly waiting for a customer to sell the ganja.
According to the police, Ayaz had allegedly been procuring ganja from a supplier in Tangi village in Khordha district of Odisha for the past year. He would travel to the village, purchase the contraband, and transport it to the city and sell it to customers known to him.
Though employed as an AC technician, he allegedly turned to drug peddling due to financial difficulties and the lure of easy money, police added.
