ACB arrests MGNREGS consultant in Siddipet accepting Rs 11,500 bribe
An engineering consultant with MGNREGS in Maddur mandal of Siddipet district was arrested by ACB officials for allegedly accepting a Rs 11,500 bribe. The accused was produced before court, and ACB urged citizens to report such incidents.

Siddipet: An engineering consultant working for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Maddur mandal of Siddipet district was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 11,500.
According to the ACB, the accused officer, Bandakindi Parushuramulu, was stationed at the office of the Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), Maddur. He allegedly demanded the money from a complainant for verifying and completing the check measurement of the complainant’s MGNREGS files and forwarding them to higher authorities for sanction of the bill.
The bribe amount was recovered from the consultant’s possession. Officials said Parushuramulu acted improperly and dishonestly in the discharge of his duties to gain undue advantage.
He was arrested and produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
The ACB has urged the public to report demands for bribes by government officials through its toll-free number 1064 or via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X (formerly Twitter) @TelanganaACB. Officials assured that the identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
