Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught a Town Planning Supervisor of the GHMC’s Golconda zone red-handed when she allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 8 lakh and accepted the first instalment of Rs 4 lakh from a person in Mehdipatnam.
According to ACB officials, Tulasiram Sunitha, Town Planning Supervisor, Circle-33, Golconda zone, had demanded the bribe for extending an official favour to the complainant. She allegedly agreed to ignore the speaking orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner, allow the complainant to proceed with building construction, refrain from further harassment and extend cooperation in future.
Acting on the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught Sunitha while accepting Rs 4 lakh. The tainted cash was recovered from her possession.
During the operation, the ACB also found Rs 2.5 lakh in unaccounted cash in her possession and seized the amount.
She was being produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
