ACB catches lineman in Telangana for Rs 6,000 bribe

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana caught a line inspector of the Electricity Department for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 for doing official work.
The lineman, Prabhu Lal, working at the Assistant Engineer (Operations) office in Pedda Amberpet, was caught red-handed by the ACB at a tiffin centre while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 6,000. Prabhu Lal had demanded the bribe from a person for releasing service numbers for new electricity meters installed at an apartment in Abdullapurmet.
The bribe amount was recovered from Prabhu Lal’s possession. He was arrested and produced before the ACB Court in Nampally.
