ACB catches ST Hostel warden accepting Rs 14,000 bribe in Kothagudem

ACB officials caught the warden of an ITDA ST Boys Hostel in Kothagudem district while accepting a Rs 14,000 bribe from a cook to process her pending salary bills. The accused was caught red-handed after ACB officials laid a trap.

Kothagudem: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have caught the warden of ITDA ST Boys Hostel at Satyanarayanapuram of Cherla mandal in the district while he was accepting a bribe.

Khammam ACB range DSP Y Ramesh, speaking to the media, informed that the accused had demanded Rs 20,000 from a cook working at the hostel to clear her pending salary bills. Later, he agreed to accept Rs 14,000 to process the salary payment.

Following this, the aggrieved individual approached the ACB officials, who laid a trap and caught the warden, Bhukya Valu Simha, red-handed on Friday. The bribe amount was seized, a case was registered against the accused and he would be produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB court in Warangal, the DSP added.
