Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a woman sub-inspector and a constable red-handed when they demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a man to help him in an attempt to murder case.

The sub-inspector, M Kiran Nandita, and constable B Vijay Kumar, were caught by the ACB City Range -2, when they demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 30,000. The sub-inspector, through the constable, had demanded the bribe “to relax the bail conditions imposed on the complainant in a case under Section 109 BNS and to extend police cooperation till finalisation of the case.” Vijay Kumar, the constable, had already accepted Rs 10,000 from the complainant.

The bribe amount of Rs 30,000 was recovered from the scooter of the sub-inspector parked inside the Bowenpally police station. The sub-inspector and the constable were arrested and produced before the ACB Court at Nampally for further action.
