Hyderabad: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted surprise searches at 18 Regional Transport Authority (RTA) offices across the State, including three in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Zonal ACB teams led by DSP-rank officials had been carrying out the searches, taking control of the offices of the District Transport Officer and the Vehicle Inspector over rising complaints from the citizens over alleged nexus between RTA officials and the agents.

It is learnt that around 18 RTA agents are under the ACB scanner for their illegal practices.

As part of the exercise, the offices were closed to the public, with entry and exit restricted to prevent any movement during the searches.
