ACB nabs Panchayat Secretary taking Rs 20,000 bribe
A panchayat secretary in Rangareddy district was arrested by the Telangana ACB after being caught red-handed while accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a farmer for issuing official certificates.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday caught a panchayat secretary working in Ranga Reddy district red-handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from a farmer for doing official work.
The official, M Sharath Kumar, working at Veljal village, Talankonda mandal of Ranga Reddy district, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000 and later reduced it to Rs. 20,000 for uploading details for issuing ‘no due certificate’ and ‘property valuation certificate’.
Based on a complaint, the ACB registered a case and laid a trap. Sharath Kumar was caught red-handed when he accepted the amount. He was arrested and produced before the ACB Court.
