ACB raids sub-registrar offices across Telangana, seizes Rs 2.5 lakh unaccounted cash
Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted State-wide raids at sub-registrar offices, seizing Rs 2,51,990 in cash. Searches revealed unauthorized private individuals and non-functional CCTV cameras. ACB recommends action against erring officers and is scrutinizing assets seized from 13 officers’ homes

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Telangana on Friday conducted searches at sub-registrar offices across the State and seized unaccounted cash.
A total of 23 teams participated in the searches conducted at Gandipet, Serilingampally, Medchal, Nizamabad Town, Zaheerabad, Miryalguda, Wanaparthy, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Bhupalpalli and Wyra.
A total of Rs 2,51,990 in cash was seized from the offices. Around 19 private persons and 60 document writers were also noticed moving in the offices without any authorisation. Several closed-circuit cameras installed in the building were non-functional.
The ACB is sending a report to the government recommending action against the erring officers. The ACB teams also conducted searches at the houses of 13 sub-registrar officers and seized cash, jewellery, and property documents from their houses which is under scrutiny, the officials said.
