Kothagudem: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped a junior assistant red-handed at Paloncha tahsildar office in the district on Saturday.
The accused, Anand Mohan Chakravarthy was said to have demanded Rs 3500 to issue a family member certificate to an engineering student, K Arun Sai of Pandurangapuram in Paloncha mandal.
The student approached the ACB officials, who laid a trap and caught the junior assistant red-handed while accepting the bribe from Sai at the office, ACB DSP Madhusudhan informed.
Chakravarthy was taken into custody and he would be produced before ACB court in Hyderabad, he added.
