ACB traps panchayat secretary in Karimnagar for Rs 10,000 bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau officials in Karimnagar trapped a gram panchayat secretary from Madhuranagar while he was accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe from a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme. The accused was taken into custody after the trap.

Karimnagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped a gram panchayat secretary while he was accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe from a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme in Madhuranagar of Gangadhara mandal on Friday.

According to ACB officials, Anil, who is working as secretary of Madhuranagar gram panchayat, had demanded Rs 10,000 from the beneficiary to issue bills under the Indiramma housing scheme.


Unable to pay the bribe, the beneficiary approached the ACB, which laid a trap and caught the secretary while accepting the amount. Later, he was taken into custody.
