Jagtial: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths arrested Kathalapur SI Pruthvidhar Goud and police station writer Ramesh for demanding bribe from a person on Sunday.
According to ACB police, Kathalapur police have seized a tractor of one Upparapelli Nagaraju of Nagulapeta, Korutla manda while shifting sand from Thakkallapalli vagu on Friday. The SI demanded Rs 15,000 to release the tractor and accepted to take a bribe of Rs 10,000. Unable to pay the amount, Nagaraju approached ACB, who in turn trapped writer Ramesh while accepting the bribe from the victim in the police station at 3 pm on Sunday.
On questioning, Ramesh informed that he had taken the amount based on the instructions from SI Pruthvidhar Goud. Accordingly, the ACB sleuths arrested the duo. ACB DSP Badraiah and other officers took part in the ride.
