Sangareddy: A fatal road accident, in which a man, his wife and mother were killed, left three children orphaned at Antharam village in Munipally mandal.
The man P Ravi (32), his wife Shobarani (28), and his mother Lakshmi (53) were heading to Sadasivpet town on Tuesday night when a heavy vehicle ran over them on NH-65 at Budhera. Death was instant for them. Lakshmi and her husband Pentaiah had two sons and a daughter. They had got their daughter married.
While Lakshmi’s elder son Narasimhulu had died by suicide 15 years ago, Lakshmi used to look after his only daughter Sirisha as her mother married another man. Pentaiah also passed away three years ago due to health issues. Ravi and Shobarani had two sons Aravind (6) and Arun (8). With the death of three elders in the family, they now have none to take care of them. The family has almost no properties either. While Sirisha was in Class 10, Aravind and Arun are in classes 1 and 3 respectively. The accident has left all these three children in a state of shock.
Relatives and villagers of Antharam appealed to the government and philanthropists to support the children. In another accident, in which Irrigation DEE Venkatrami Reddy, his wife Vilasini died in road accident near Varanasi while they were coming back from Prayagraj, the couple’s two children Harsitha (9) and Bhargavram Reddy (7) were orphaned. Their driver Malla Reddy, who also died in the mishap, also had two sons.
