Hyderabad: The CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka found himself at the receiving end when he alleged that the government was trying to use funds from Assembly Constituency Development Programme (ACDP) for ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’. Responding to the observation in the Assembly on Saturday, the Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao said that the Congress ruled the State for over 50 years but the TRS came to power in June 2014.
There were only 100 residential schools during the Congress regime but it has now gone up to 975 and the government was spending Rs.1.20 lakh on each student. The students are pursuing various courses and getting seats in national-level competitive exams along with NEET and securing seats in prestigious national educational institutions across the country.
The State government has allocated Rs.7,289.54 crore for ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme.
“Accept the good work done by us. What is the objection in utilizing ACDP funds?” Rama Rao asked. Intervening in the discussion, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that it was the TRS government, which is giving Rs.5 crore as ACDP funds and no other State in the country was giving funds.
To another remark made by Vikramarka that Rama Rao, Finance Minister T Harish Rao used to jump the benches and reach the podium to register their protest when they were MLAs in united Andhra Pradesh.
In response, Legislative Affairs Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said both Rama Rao and Harish Rao jumped the benches demanding separate State for Telangana. Even as Vikramarka tried to explain, the Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao advised him to confine to the subject and continue the discussion on budget.
