Adilabad: Adilabad Collector Sikta Patnaik told officials concerned to encourage those aged above 18 to vaccinate against Covid-19.
In a press statement, Sikta said that 4.52 lakh beneficiaries out of the total beneficiaries of 5.48 lakh had undergone vaccination against the virus in the district so far. While 3.74 lakh beneficiaries had the first jab of the vaccination, barely 78,111 beneficiaries took the second dose, she informed, asking officials of medical and panchayat and municipal departments to motivate eligible civilians to get vaccination.
The IAS officer advised the authorities concerned to chalk an action plan and to achieve 100 percent vaccination by ensuing Diwali festival. She stated that the vaccination drive slowed down due to disinterest among the beneficiaries in the wake of Dasara and Bathukamma festivals. She instructed the officials of various departments to accomplish the goal of the vaccination programme by taking assistance from elected representatives.
The Collector told the staffers of different departments to undergo vaccination against the virus. She wanted the report containing the list of employees who had both the first and second dose of the vaccination. She warned that action would be initiated against those officials who had not been vaccinated so far and instructed heads of the department to stall the salary of the employees for the month of October.
